UPDATE: Ross comes in at #2 on the charts behind Slipknot with 72k copies sold first week. 18k of that are coming from pure sales. Trippie Redd’s ! has moved 51k (7k pure sales), Lil Tjay’s F.N. has sold 15k (1k), Ugly God’s Bumps & Bruises has moved 14k (3k) and Blueface’s Dirt Bag has sold 13k (1k).

Rick Ross’ 10th studio album Port of Miami 2 was quite hyped online before it hit stores and streaming services this past Friday, Aug. 9th. The album features guest appearances from Drake, Wale, Meek Mill, Jeezy, Summer Walker, Nipsey Hussle and DeJ Loaf among others (see full production credits here).
The album has been out for more than two days so we now have the projections for first week sales. According to HDD, Port of Miami II is expected to move 70-80k copies in the first week with about 13-15k coming from pure sales. This should give him a top 3 spot on the Billboard 200 this week. Metal band Slipknot’s first album in 5 years, We Are Not Your Kind, is heading to the #1 spot with about 100-120k in total activity.
For comparison, the Miami rapper’s last album Rather You Than Me debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 with first week sales of 106k so there is a slight dip this time around. Over the weekend, Pusha T talked about his scrapped verse that didn’t make it to the final version of ‘Maybach Music VI’ alongside rival Lil Wayne.
The other big Hip-Hop release of the week, Trippie Redd’s new album ! is projected to move 45-55k total copies in the first week (1-2k pure sales).
