Tomorrow marks ten years since The Weeknd first step foot on the music scene, releasing the first in a trilogy of mixtapes with House Of Balloons. It was the first time many had heard of him and was massively influential, gaining him the ear of Drake and landing him big placements on Take Care. Whether you’re a stan or not, you probably respect this mixtape as a classic.
So when The Weeknd took to Twitter to announce that it would be on streaming services this weekend in its original form, fans went crazy. Of course, it had always been up as part of Trilogy, but certain samples were missing from the retail release which took away from the feel of some of the songs.
