I’ve always seen adhesive posters (snipes) decorating the walls and fences of New York City. Sunday was the first day I saw myself on those snipes. We (Evan, Willie, and Shiv were with me) had just touched down after our two day trip to Germany and were driving through Harlem on the way to my new spot when I spotted a series of snipes on the corner of 125th & 5th avenue.
I had to stop the car and jump out. I’ll always remember this moment. Shiv was smiling in the back seat in suspended disbelief. He’s worked with me since he was 17 and in high school. He’s actually responsible for the touring I do in Germany. This is big to him, big to me, and big to anyone who knows the journey it’s been to get one of these snipes with my name, my picture AND my release date. Amazing.
