Known for his comedic antics, Long Beach rapper Vince Staples shows us a softer side on the new single ‘Yo Love’ featuring 6LACK and Mereba which will appear on the new Queen & Slim film. You can watch the film’s trailer below.
It is a Universal Pictures love story about a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde. On ‘Yo Love’, Staples gets into character with a couple of flirtatious verses that reference classic black cinema like Jason’s Lyrics and Love Jones. 6LACK serenades about meeting his love interest for the first and foresees an ever-lasting future. ‘Yo Love’ follows in the footsteps of love with previous releases from the upcoming film’s soundtrack including ‘Collide‘ by Tiana Major9 and EarthGang and “Ride or Die” by Megan Thee Stallion.
Available this Friday (Nov. 15) via Motown, Queen & Slim: The Soundtrack features new music by Lauryn Hill, Lil Baby, Blood Orange, BJ The Chicago Kid and many more. The soundtrack ends the five-year hiatus of Lauryn Hill who contributes the highly-anticipated song, ‘Black Rage (Sketch)‘
