Leaks have been both a blessing and a curse in Lil Wayne’s career, depending on how you look at it. On one hand, they have potentially affected the albums we have gotten from him, including Tha Carter III. On the other hand, we might not have gotten what some people consider his best music if it weren’t for unofficial releases. Either way, it’s never a great thing to have your music drop when you don’t want it to.
In the past few years, Wayne songs have been coming out both individually and in bunches. In late 2018, nine songs leaked supposedly from Velvet. Then back in September of last year, what could have been an original version of Tha Carter V came out. Just last month, a dozen tracks surfaced and tonight we have another large leak.
This time, a whopping 18 songs have made their way onto the internet. There is a collaboration with Ty Dolla Sign, one with Capo, one with Dre and one with Hoodybaby. There are also a couple of alternate versions to songs we’ve heard leaked before.
