Jhene Aiko’s Chilombo album has been worked on for a long time now and been delayed a few times. The campaign for it actually kicked off almost a year ago with the release of ‘Triggered‘ and all of its remixes. But finally last month, the singer revealed the LP’s artwork and it’s release date of March 6th.
Now, the album is officially out worldwide. It boasts appearances from big names like her boyfriend Big Sean, Ty Dolla Sign, Nas, John Legend, Future, Ab-Soul and even her father Dr. Chill across its 20 tracks.

In a previous statement, Jhene revealed that a lot of the songs were recorded impromptu in Hawaii where Jhené’s great grandmother was born. “There were moments I felt I couldn’t go any further, sang through sorrow and swollen vocal chords, but said fuck it and kept going anyway,” said Jhene of her sessions on the Island. “I am so proud of myself for getting it done by doing it my way.” Stream the album below.
Jhene will be going on The Magic Hour tour starting May 1 in Boston — see the full schedule here.
