Lil Nas X has finally announced the release date for his highly anticipated debut album, Montero.
Taking to social media on Wednesday night, the rapper and singer revealed that the album will release on Sept. 17. Alongside the announcement regarding the date, Nas also debuted a trailer for the album featuring a previously unreleased song.
“Creating this album has been therapy for me,” Nas wrote in his announcement post. “I’ve learned to let go of trying to control people’s perception of who I am, what I can do, and where I will be. I’ve realized the only opinion of me that really matters is my own.”

The album’s latest single ‘Industry Baby‘ is currently occupying the #2 spot on global Spotify chart as well as the Apple Music US chart. It’s also sitting comfortably inside the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Last month, more than 16 songs recorded for the album leaked online through unknown sources.
