UPDATE: NBA YoungBoy has done it. He edges Drake out ever so slightly to take the top spot from him, selling 137,775 copies of Sincerely, Kentrell first week. 10,199 comes from pure sales. He beat Drake by around 3k, which means the deluxe edition of the album that he dropped might have made all the difference.
Previous story:
NBA Youngboy has a unique fan base which is always hungry for new music from the rapper.
For some reason, a lot of folks from the music industry are still trying to figure out the science behind the Baton Rouge rapper’s appeal. Whatever it is, it’s surely working. NBA released his latest album Sincerely, Kentrell on Friday after a few delays. Like most projects from him, it doesn’t have a single guest appearance.
Today, we have the first week sales projections for the album. It is expected to move about 135-155k copies in the first week according to HDD and it’s no surprise that almost the entire of it will come from the activity on streaming services.
This should be enough to have a chance at the number one spot of Billboard 200 ahead of Drake but the final verdict will only be known at the end of the charting week.
