Three men involved in the shooting of rapper XXXTentacion have been found guilty of murder by a jury on Monday.
Dedrick Devonshay Williams, Michael Boatwright and Trayvon Newsome were charged with first-degree murder in the death of the popular rapper which caused shockwaves in the music industry. XXXTentacion, whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy, was shot and killed in Broward County, Florida, on June 18, 2018. He was just 20 years old.
A fourth person named Robert Allen, already pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and testified for the prosecution in the case. The rapper was leaving a Deerfield Beach motorsports dealership when two armed men approached him and opened fire in a robbery attempt according to the authorities.
Surveillance video showed two masked gunmen emerging and confronting the platinum selling rapper at the driver’s window, and then one shot him repeatedly. They then grabbed a Louis Vuitton bag containing cash XXXTentacion had just withdrawn from the bank, got back into the SUV and sped away.
The defendants showed little emotion as each stood and was handcuffed by a bailiff, according to news outlets.
