Kevin Gates ended up being one of the most successful rappers of 2016 but late last year, was charged with battery charges for kicking a fan in the summer of 2015 while he was performing on stage at an event in Lakeland, Florida. He is currently serving a 30 month prison sentence for the same.
But his wife Dreka Gates has plans to satisfy his fanbase with new music. She revealed to fans on Twitter that she’s currently putting together a new project from the rapper and has been given the full responsibility regarding everything connected with it. She also confessed to being a little nervous about the same.

It looks like this project will not be a proper studio album. In an interview with Galore magazine, Dreka says: “We were gearing up to release his next album but we’re missing a few key songs so now we’re working on another mixtape project.” Even if it’s a mixtape of new and original songs, we will be more than happy to hear new music while Gates is away.
