After a few mini editions, it was time to write a full Play It On The Radio for our readers. Heavy movement on the charts definitely motivates me to write so here it is. Who’s ruling the charts? Who’s struggling? What are my predictions? Find all of that in the 43rd edition of PIOTR.
RHYTHMIC:
– Pharrell’s ‘Happy’ continues to rule this format and is closely followed by Jason Derulo’s ‘Talk Dirty’, although both songs are on the downswing.
– John Legend is up almost 800 spins this week sitting at #3 and my prediction says he will be number 1 either next week or the one after that. Crazy that a song without a beat is ruling the Rhythmic format.
– Chris Brown’s ‘Loyal’ is top 5 this week as well, up about 250 spins. At #5 we have the DJ Mustard produced ‘Na Na’ by Trey Songz which is also on the upstream by about 350 spins.
– Beyonce’s ‘Drunk In Love’ finally loses steam this week, down 600 spins but still maintaining a top 10 spot.
– Jhene Aiko’s ‘The Worst’ now enters the Top 15 at #14 while Iggy Azalea roars to #15 with ‘Fancy’, up more than 600 spins. This is turning out to be a power record, like I predicted.
– Young Money feat. Drake ‘Trophies’ is another song that is gaining speed, up about 500 spins to #16 this week.
– Justin Timberlake’s ‘Not A Bad Thing’ is one of the greatest gainers now top 20 at #19.
– Newcomer Tinashe’s ‘2 On’ is the new entry this week at #31. Lookout for this record.
– Childish Gambino’s ‘3005’ and Ludacris’ ‘Party Girls’ are the other new entries at #38 and #39 respectively. Luda’s song isn’t getting the love it deserves.

– Jhene Aiko goes top 3 at #3 this week with ‘The Worst’ but Chris Brown’s ‘Loyal’ is making major moves as it jumps to #4 this week, up 400 spins. It’s might be the next potential #1.
– Jay Z’s ‘Part II (On The Run)’ feat. Beyonce is making a late surge, now #5 and gaining by 240 spins.
– Trey Songz’ ‘Na Na’ and Young Thug’s ‘Stoner’ enter top 10 at #9 and #10 respectively.
