J. Cole’s third album 2014 Forest Hills Drive was never meant to have songs with radio appeal. But the young NC rapper was still able to score a decent hit with ‘Apparently’ which peaked at #58 on Billboard Hot 100 and got significant radio play.
He and his label Columbia Records have now picked the follow up single — ‘Wet Dreamz‘ which is set to impact radio on April 14. The song, which samples Family Circle’s 1977’s song ‘Mariya‘ is all about his first time with a girl he liked when he was a youngster.
One interesting fact about this song is that it was originally set to appear on his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story (watch the revelation from 2010 below) but somehow didn’t make the cut and part of the story which he tells on the song was also narrated on ‘Too Deep For the Intro‘ track from Friday Night Lights.
