Spotify Releases ‘Song of The Summer’ Predictions List for 2019

Summer is officially over and it’s safe to say that as far as Hip-Hop is concerned, we didn’t have a clear “song of the summer.”

There were of course a few songs that did really well. Streaming giant Spotify has released its official list of songs that were streamed the most globally and in the U.S. on their platform during the season. Topping the list globally is Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello’s smash ‘Señorita’. With more than 565 million streams since its June release, the song has been on the top for eight straight weeks.

‘I Don’t Care’ by Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber comes in second, followed by ‘bad guy’ by Billie Eilish. Lil Nas X, Post Malone, Khalid, Lil Tecca, Drake and Lizzo round up rest of the global list.

In the U.S., Lil Tecca’s ‘Ransom’ was the most streamed song on Spotify. The platform was quick to see its potential from the early days and after its inclusion on multiple playlists, the song consistently grew in momentum. It eventually ended up being a top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hit for the young rapper. Drake, Lil Nax X, Lizzo, Chris Brown, Young Thug, J. Cole, Tyler The Creator and Lil Tjay are some of the other artists who make the list. See the details below.
