Talib Kweli Announces New Album ‘Cultural Currency’ Through Patreon

Talib Kweli has announced the release of his new album titled Cultural Currency today which he will launch through Patreon.

Fans of the rapper will be able to choose one out of the three tiers being offered on the subscription service, which will give them perks such as a new track each month for next one year, an unreleased song or video from a Hip-Hop legend every month, access to his discord and more. The price for the subscription ranges from $5 per month to $25 per month and come with the following benefits:

• Exclusive first access to the new Talib Kweli album, Cultural Currency, with a new track dropping every month for 12 months

• A monthly unreleased track/video from Hip Hop legends curated by Talib Kweli

• Access to a Patreon Only Discord to connect with Talib and his crew

• Exclusive stickers, signed vinyl’s, live Q&As and more

Said Talib on the partnership with Patreon for his new album: “I am considered an underground rapper. My lyrics critique the status quo. On paper, I was not supposed to be a successful artist. I succeeded in spite of the odds because I was always able to go around the industry and connect with my fans directly. When the music industry told me no, I built an industry around myself. Working with Patreon is the next step in this evolution. Patreon was created by artists for artists. I am proud to be born who I am, but my chosen tribe consists of artists and people who love art. Sharing my art on Patreon allows me to connect with my tribe in amazing and innovative ways.”

Fans can go to his Patreon page to peep all the details. Last week, he revealed that his Black Star album with Mos Def produced by Madlib is not coming out due to some “culture vultures.”
